International Property Alerts - March 2008 - Turkey - No sale to foreign companies

Posted on Wednesday, 19 March 2008 02:13PM
Dear IPA Reader,

Talking about Turkey there is much bigger news at the moment which I heard about on Friday. The Constitutional Court in Istanbul on Wednesday cancelled the law which allows the sale of real estate to foreign companies. We are still digesting the new law in the office and the effect of it but it seems to affect only company investors, not individuals. Therefore individuals should still be allowed to buy. What this will have an effect on is foreign developers going into Turkey. As soon as we have something more concrete I will let you know.
