Answer: It is possible to carry out checks on the property in Portugal to make sure that the property belongs to eth seller and that there are no mortgages or charges on the property. However, the checks don’t work in the same way as they do in the UK and some of the checks that you will be used to in the UK may not be possible in Portugal.
